Mr Fuller's London to Paris adventure

Date: 24th Jul 2018 @ 10:42am

Hi Everyone!

Over the next few days, my wife and I (together with 150 other brave souls) are going to be riding from London to Paris (some 300 miles) in order to raise funds for 'The Alzheimer's Society'. A huge "THANK YOU!" to everyone that has supported me with your wonderful donations, they are greatly appreciated.

Each day I will post updates on our progress (technology willing), as we head towards the beautiful city of Paris, with a few photos and videos and the odd appearance from Barney (Our Class Mascot). All being well, we will arrive in time to see this year's final stage of Tour de France! Yippee! Come on Team Sky!

Keep cycling!

So we finally made it! Over 330 miles cycled (in temperatures well over 40oC on our third day) through the glorious, lumpy countrysides of Kent and then northern France, before eventually reaching our goal - the beautiful city of Paris. What a magnificent journey!

Thankfully there were no medical problems for us or mechanical issues with our bikes along the way, even though the weather was so hot it was actually melting the roads in some places!

As you can see, Barney enjoyed the trip too, especially getting to see Geraint Thomas win the Tour de France - what a worthy champion! However, we nearly didn't see much of the race at all as to our dismay, a large lorry decided to park right in front of us! How rude! Eventually, to everyone's relief, it moved before the riders actually came past.

Enjoy the rest of your holidays and see you in September.

Keep cycling!
